To compliment and support your holistic treatment program, breath work, mindfulness and/or affirmations may be recommended, and will be prescribed in accordance with your unique needs.
Breath work helps to release negative emotion, calm the central nervous system and detoxify the body, supporting the immune system, improving digestion, lowering blood pressure and helping to relieve pain, stress, anxiety and nervousness.
Mindfulness exercises bring everything back to the present. Rather than focus on the negative experiences of the past, or worry or anxiety about the future, mindfulness brings you into the present moment, helping you find the joy and happiness available to you right now. Breath work is often prescribed alongside mindfulness exercises to enhance the effect of both.
Affirmations are a great start to re-training your belief systems. They are positive statements that you will repeat to yourself several times a day (usually in conjunction with breath work and/or mindfulness exercises). They will challenge your current beliefs and understanding of yourself (and the world), however they encourage you to open your mind to different perspectives, realities and truths that serve to support your personal growth. Affirmations are a powerful tool for you to make positive changes in behavioural patterns that no longer serve your needs.
